Nancy ♥️
Nancy Anne LeBlanc, 67, of Groves Point, passed into God’s loving arms on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Alder Point, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Florence McNeil and the daughter-in-law of the late Gerald and Theresa LeBlanc. After graduating from Memorial High School, Nancy headed to Alberta with the love of her life, James LeBlanc. They both worked for many years at Suncor and later moved to Lac La Biche, where they started their own valve business, Zero Tolerance. They became proud parents to their daughter, Chantel, whom they cherished with all their hearts.
After James passed away, Nancy and Chantel moved back home to Cape Breton in 2009, but she always kept her Blaise Resort family close to her heart, especially Patty and Donnie.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Chantel (Trevor); her brothers, Joey (Cecilia) and Gary (Janie); and her sisters, Anita (Neil), Angie (Chris), Donna (Joey), and Tracey (Jack). She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Joe (Priscilla) and Willie (Tara); and her sisters-in-law, Melinda (Brian) and Carol (Leonard). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, with whom she shared special relationships and deep love.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents and parents-in-law; her brothers, Jimmy and Shaun; her sisters-in-law, Carol Ann, Arlene, and Darlene; and her brothers-in-law, Clifton, Lenny, and Gerald.
Spending time with family and friends meant the world to Nancy. Christmas was especially meaningful when she hosted her annual gift exchange parties—always filled with laughter and joy. She was known for her amazing homemade carrot cake, a beloved staple at Sunday dinners. Nancy could often be found knitting or crocheting for countless occasions.
If you called Nancy, you knew to get comfortable—it was never a “quick chat.” What started as a simple “hello” almost always turned into an hour-long conversation. Summer campfires were Nancy’s happy place, and in recent years, she cherished her time at the Time Out campground, where her camping friends became her second family.
Everyone who knew Nancy admired her kind, easygoing nature and her appreciation for the simple things in life. She was a devoted mom, sister, aunt, friend, and a “second” wife to Neil. The memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff of the ICU and ER departments at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. The care, compassion, and professionalism shown to Nancy and her family were truly second to none. Special thanks also to Rhonda for being faithfully by Nancy’s side. To everyone who visited or sent thoughtful messages, your kindness meant so much. To Nancy’s partner in crime, Anita—you were her rock. We don’t know what she would have done without you.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. James, along with many others, will surely be there to welcome her at Heaven’s gate.
