The family of E. Ann Turner (Stockley) are saddened to announce the passing of Aunt Ann on February 11, 2026.
She was born in 1944 in Ingonish to Alfred Stockley and Louise (Dupe), and was their last remaining child. In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her siblings: Russell (Gloria), Clarence (Sadie), Jim (Betty), Roy (Evelyn), Murray, Pat (Hardy), Catherine (Hussey), Mary (Hardy), Nora (Taggert), Rose (Campbell), Francis (Porter), and Hannah (Kenny). She was also predeceased by two brothers in infancy, George and Albert.
Aunt Ann leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, too many to name, all of whom loved her dearly.
Ann was always up for an adventure. She loved her outings to Value Village and Giant Tiger. Throughout her life, she also enjoyed bingo, darts, dancing, playing the machines now and again, chocolate, and a good cup of tea.
Aunt Ann always had a good story to tell — some true and some not. Her sense of humour was second to none, sometimes at her own expense. She made for wonderful company but also enjoyed her solitude. She loved all of God’s creatures, even the mice, and she especially cherished her cat, Sara.
At this time, we would like to thank the staff on 4E for the comfort and care they offered both Aunt Ann and our family.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Jobes Funeral Home. There will be no service at this time.
